World champions Australia crushed Pakistan......................


World champions Australia crushed Pakistan 5-1 Monday to boost their chances of reaching the final in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia, while that of Great Britain rose to the top of the table.
For Pakistan, and a heavy defeat – losing the second in consecutive days after pitched to Great Britain 3-2 on Sunday – saw them beat in the order of Australia, who are seven points having played a game less.
Great Britain went top of the table with an easy 3-1 win over New Zealand.
Pakistan, who have six points after four matches, suffered in the wet conditions and it was the Australians who took their chances, forcing errors from their opponents in the game fast-paced and open.
He said Australian coach Ric Charlesworth was a relief to win after his team struggled welcome in a draw against India, noting that his players were coming in better shape.
“I do not doubt that this performance was an improvement in the form of the previous day but we are still not there yet. Pakistanis did not play well but our attempts in the target was much better, and come to fruition,” he said.
Australia looks forward seriously from the beginning with Glenn Turner, Wilson and Jason Simon orchard test goalkeeper Imran Shah early in the first half.
